THE NYMERIA ALTERNATIVE

Nymeria Returns Contact Details. Datamagnet Returns The Profile.

Nymeria is a contact database: one lookup gives you a work email, a personal email and a mobile number. Datamagnet is a live data API: one lookup gives you the profile as it reads right now, plus posts, engagement and job-change signals. Most teams that compare them end up needing both, for different jobs.

Datamagnet vs Nymeria: the short answer

Nymeria and Datamagnet solve different halves of the same problem. Nymeria is a stored contact database: give it a LinkedIn URL, an email, or a name and company and it returns work and personal emails, a mobile number, and a short biographic record, with browser extensions for one-off lookups. Datamagnet is a live professional data API: it returns the full profile — work history, education, posts, engagement, job-change signals — fetched at the moment you ask, and no emails or phone numbers at all. Need contact details, pick Nymeria. Need current profile data, pick Datamagnet.

Our verdict

Nymeria is good at the thing it was built for. If the output of your workflow is an email address or a mobile number, Datamagnet cannot replace it, and we would not pretend otherwise. But Nymeria stops where the contact record ends: its documented enrichment response is a dozen fields, its search matches on name, title, company, location and industry, and it has nothing to say about what a person posted last week or whether they changed jobs. Datamagnet starts there. The honest framing is contact data versus profile data, not better versus worse.

Which one should you pick?

Straight guidance, including the cases where we're the wrong answer.

Choose Datamagnet if

  • You need the profile as it reads today — current title, tenure, full work history — rather than the version stored at last refresh
  • Posts, comments, reactions and reposts are part of what you are building, and Nymeria has no equivalent
  • You want job-change and engagement signals pushed to a webhook instead of re-enriching a list on a schedule
  • Your searches start from a Sales Navigator URL or a real ICP filter set, not five text fields
  • You want to sign up, take 10 free credits and call the API today without talking to anyone

Choose Nymeria if

  • You need email addresses. Datamagnet returns none, and no amount of profile depth substitutes for that
  • You need mobile or direct-dial phone numbers, which Datamagnet also does not provide
  • You need email verification — Nymeria bills it as a credit operation, we have nothing like it
  • Your reps work one profile at a time in the browser and want a Chrome, Edge or Firefox extension; Datamagnet has no extension
  • Your input is an email address, or a name and company, rather than a LinkedIn URL

Two very different objects come back

The person enrichment example in Nymeria's API docs returns twelve fields: name, location, country, job title, company, industry, personal emails, work email, mobile phone and a LinkedIn username. That is a contact card, and for prospecting it is often exactly enough. Datamagnet's person endpoint returns the profile itself — every role with dates, education, about text, and optional enrichment blocks for recommendations, groups, schools, newsletters and similar profiles. The two responses answer different questions: how do I reach this person, versus who is this person right now.

  • Nymeria answers "what is their email" — one lookup, one credit, from a stored record
  • Datamagnet answers "what does their profile say today" — one lookup, one credit, fetched live
  • Neither covers the other: we have no emails, they have no posts, activity or signals

Search is billed differently: Nymeria charges 1 credit for each person a search returns, Datamagnet charges 10 credits for a 25-result page. Both bill only on successful requests. Competitor pricing is taken from their public pricing page and was last checked July 2026; list prices change and negotiated rates differ. See Datamagnet pricing for our current plans.

Where each tool genuinely wins

No tool wins everywhere. Here's the honest split.

Where Nymeria wins

  • Work and personal email addresses, which Datamagnet does not return at all
  • Mobile and direct-dial phone numbers, which Datamagnet also does not return
  • Email verification billed as a normal credit operation, with no Datamagnet equivalent
  • Chrome, Edge and Firefox extensions for one-by-one lookups while browsing — Datamagnet has no extension of any kind
  • Enrichment keyed on an email address or a name and company, so it works when you have no LinkedIn URL
  • A bulk endpoint that takes an array of mixed identifiers in a single POST, with per-request metadata echoed back
  • A require parameter that returns 404 without spending a credit when the record has no email or phone

Where Datamagnet wins

  • Every profile fetched live at request time rather than served from a stored record
  • Full work history, education and profile detail instead of a twelve-field contact card
  • Post content, commenters, reactors and reposters as structured data
  • Sales Navigator search URLs and real ICP filters, not five text-match fields
  • Six job-change and engagement signal types delivered by HMAC-signed webhook
  • Company funding-round history from a domain, which Nymeria does not offer
  • 1,000 credits a month at $39 against $159, and pay-as-you-go down to $0.02 per credit
  • Self-serve signup with 10 free credits and no sales conversation

Datamagnet vs Nymeria: FAQ

It depends on what you use Nymeria for. If you use it to find email addresses and phone numbers, Datamagnet is not a replacement — it returns neither. If you use it to enrich people from LinkedIn URLs and you keep wishing the record were deeper or fresher, Datamagnet is a direct upgrade: it fetches the live profile with full work history, and adds posts, engagement data and job-change signals that Nymeria does not collect.

No. Datamagnet does not return email addresses, does not verify emails, and does not return phone numbers. It is a people and company data API: you POST a public LinkedIn URL and get the structured profile back, fetched at that moment. Teams that need both usually pair the two, using Datamagnet for profile depth, search and signals, and a contact-data provider like Nymeria for the email and the mobile number.

Nymeria publishes three self-serve tiers plus an enterprise plan. Nano is $39 a month for 100 credits, Micro is $79 for 300 credits, and Kilo is $159 for 1,000 credits, with annual billing saving 20 percent. One credit covers one successful contact enrichment or one email verification, and one credit is charged for each person a search returns. Credits do not roll over on monthly or annual plans. Enterprise volume is quoted individually.

Not from their website as of July 2026. Every plan on the Nymeria pricing page links to a contact form, the login page has no create-account link, and the sitemap lists no registration URL. Their FAQ still describes 5 free credits a month with no credit card required, so accounts clearly exist — you just appear to go through sales to get one. Datamagnet gives 10 free credits at signup with no card and no conversation.

No. Nymeria documents four API operations — person enrich, person search, company enrich and company search — plus a bulk version of person enrich. There is no post content, no comment or reaction data, no activity feed, and no notification when someone changes jobs. Datamagnet covers all of those, with dedicated endpoints for posts, comments, reactions and reposts, and six signal types — including job_change — delivered by email digest or HMAC-signed webhook.
