THE CLEARBIT ALTERNATIVE

Clearbit Went Into HubSpot. Your Enrichment Doesn't Have To.

The standalone Clearbit API era ended with the HubSpot acquisition: Clearbit no longer takes new subscriptions, and its enrichment is sold as Breeze Intelligence on top of a paid HubSpot plan. Datamagnet is the standalone alternative for builders — live person and company enrichment, search, and signals, CRM-agnostic and pay-as-you-go.

Datamagnet vs Clearbit: the short answer

Clearbit no longer exists as a product you can buy. HubSpot acquired it in December 2023, folded the enrichment into Breeze Intelligence, closed Clearbit to new subscriptions, and discontinued the free tools — Clearbit Connect, the Chrome extension, the free platform — on 30 April 2025. Clearbit pricing in 2026 therefore means a paid HubSpot subscription plus HubSpot Credits, whose pay-as-you-go rate is $0.010 per credit. So every Clearbit evaluation now is really an alternatives shortlist: stay inside HubSpot with Breeze, or move to a standalone enrichment API. Datamagnet is the second option — POST a LinkedIn URL, get the profile as it exists at that moment, 1 credit per lookup.

Our verdict

Breeze Intelligence is a good CRM feature and a poor API. It is excellent if HubSpot is your system of record and you want enrichment to appear on contacts without integration work — and its IP-based visitor identification has no Datamagnet equivalent. But it is not purchasable standalone, its price rides on a HubSpot subscription you may not otherwise want, it keys off emails and domains rather than LinkedIn URLs, and it serves stored records. Datamagnet is the better fit when the consumer of the data is code rather than a CRM view.

The 8 best Clearbit alternatives in 2026

Clearbit is closed to new customers, so every option below is a replacement. Ranked for teams that used Clearbit as an enrichment API or CRM data source.

  1. 1. Datamagnet

    $39/mo, or $0.02/credit
  2. 2. HubSpot Breeze Intelligence

Which one should you pick?

Straight guidance, including the cases where we're the wrong answer.

Choose Datamagnet if

  • You are not a HubSpot customer, or you do not want your enrichment tied to one CRM's roadmap
  • The thing calling the API is your product, a data pipeline, or an agent — not a salesperson in a CRM tab
  • You need the profile as it is right now, not the version stored at last refresh
  • You want post content and engagement data, ICP search, or job-change signals, none of which Breeze offers
  • You want to start today, self-serve, without a HubSpot subscription underneath

Choose Clearbit if

  • HubSpot is your source of truth and you want enrichment on records with zero integration work
  • You need IP-based anonymous website visitor identification, which Datamagnet does not do
  • Your workflow starts from an email address or a company domain rather than a LinkedIn URL
  • You already hold HubSpot credits and your enrichment volume fits inside them
  • Form shortening and progressive profiling inside HubSpot matter more to you than API access

Clearbit vs HubSpot: the same product, sold differently

There is no Clearbit-versus-HubSpot decision left to make — HubSpot owns Clearbit, and Clearbit's enrichment now ships as Breeze Intelligence inside HubSpot. What the move actually changed for anyone integrating it is the lookup key. Clearbit's world was keyed on emails and domains: you had an address, you asked what company it belonged to. Datamagnet keys on LinkedIn URLs, which is a different and generally richer starting point — one identifier resolves to current title, tenure, full work history and recent activity. The migration is less a field remap than a re-think of where your records come from.

  • Find — ICP search, live people search, or a Sales Navigator URL returns net-new matches
  • Enrich — one call returns the live profile; company firmographics and funding come from the Company API
  • Watch — job-change and engagement signals keep records current without scheduled re-enrichment

Where each tool genuinely wins

No tool wins everywhere. Here's the honest split.

Where Clearbit wins

  • IP-based identification of anonymous website visitors — Datamagnet has no equivalent
  • Enrichment appears on HubSpot records with no integration work at all
  • Email- and domain-keyed resolution, which suits inbound forms and marketing workflows
  • Deep firmographic and technographic attributes for account-based marketing
  • Form shortening and progressive profiling built into HubSpot forms
  • Backed by HubSpot infrastructure and support, with credits already bundled into most editions

Where Datamagnet wins

  • Still available to buy — Clearbit is closed to new subscriptions
  • Works with any CRM, or with no CRM at all
  • Every profile fetched live at request time rather than served from stored records
  • Post content, commenters, reactors and reposters as structured data
  • ICP search, live people search and Sales Navigator URL search
  • Six job-change and engagement signal types delivered by HMAC-signed webhook
  • Charged only on successful requests, with 10 free credits to test first
  • Transparent per-endpoint credit costs with no seat licences

Datamagnet vs Clearbit: FAQ

HubSpot acquired Clearbit in December 2023 and folded its capabilities into Breeze Intelligence. Clearbit still supports existing customers but is no longer offering new subscriptions, and its free products — the free Clearbit platform, Clearbit Connect, the TAM calculator and the Slack integration — were discontinued on 30 April 2025. If you are evaluating enrichment today and are not already a customer, you are choosing a replacement whether you intended to or not.

There is no standalone Clearbit price any more. Enrichment is bought as Breeze Intelligence inside HubSpot, so the cost is a paid HubSpot subscription plus HubSpot Credits, whose pay-as-you-go rate is $0.010 per credit, invoiced in 10-credit increments. How many credits come bundled depends on your HubSpot edition. Datamagnet, by contrast, charges 1 credit per live person or company profile with no subscription underneath it, from $0.02 per credit.

Effectively, yes. Breeze Intelligence is where Clearbit’s data and enrichment ended up after the acquisition, which is why "Clearbit vs HubSpot" is no longer a real comparison. The difference is packaging: Clearbit was an API you called from anywhere, while Breeze is a HubSpot feature that writes onto HubSpot records. If your CRM is not HubSpot, that repackaging removed the product rather than renaming it.

No. Clearbit Connect, the Gmail and Chrome extension that looked up contacts from your inbox, was discontinued on 30 April 2025 along with the rest of the free Clearbit tools, and the public Logo API was sunset on 8 December 2025. HubSpot points users to Breeze Intelligence instead, which is a CRM feature rather than a browser extension.

They split into two camps. If you want enrichment inside a CRM, the competitors are Breeze Intelligence itself, Apollo, ZoomInfo, Cognism and LeadIQ — seat-based tools that put data in front of salespeople. If you want what the Clearbit API gave you, an endpoint your own code calls, the shortlist is standalone providers such as Datamagnet, People Data Labs and Clay. Which camp you are in decides the answer more than any feature table.

For person and company enrichment, yes in spirit: you call an API and get structured JSON. The difference is the lookup key. Clearbit resolved from emails and domains, while Datamagnet enriches from LinkedIn URLs and fetches the page live. If you enriched by email before, find the person first via ICP search, live people search or a Sales Navigator URL, then enrich. For domain workflows, our funding-rounds endpoint accepts a domain directly.

Try Datamagnet against Clearbit on your own data

10 free credits, no credit card. Run the same lookups through both and compare the JSON yourself.

  • Live data at request time
  • Charged only on success
  • No seats, no annual contract
