THE UNIFY ALTERNATIVE

Unify Runs Your Outbound. Datamagnet Feeds It.

Unify is a system of action: an outbound agent, waterfall email and phone enrichment, multi-channel sequencing, managed mailboxes and website visitor intent — self-serve from $20 per seat per month since June 2026. Datamagnet sits one layer below that, a live people & company data API you call from your own code. Unify's API reads and writes objects inside your Unify workspace; it does not hand you profile data. That is most of the comparison.

Datamagnet vs Unify: the short answer

Unify and Datamagnet solve different halves of outbound. Unify is a system of action: an outbound agent, waterfall email and phone enrichment across 40-plus vendors, multi-channel sequencing, managed mailboxes, website visitor intent, and Salesforce and HubSpot sync — self-serve from $20 per seat per month since June 2026. Datamagnet is the data layer underneath: POST a LinkedIn URL to a REST endpoint and get structured JSON fetched live, from $39 a month with no seats. Pick Unify if a revenue team is running campaigns. Pick Datamagnet if your own code is the caller.

Our verdict

Unify is a strong product doing a job Datamagnet does not attempt. It finds contacts, produces emails and phone numbers, writes and sends the sequences, manages the mailboxes, and identifies anonymous website visitors — none of which Datamagnet does at any price. Its move to self-serve pricing in June 2026 makes it cheap for a revenue team to try, and most revenue teams should. But its API points inward: it moves your data into the workspace rather than returning enriched profiles to your code. When the caller is a service rather than a seller, you want an endpoint, and per-seat pricing stops making sense the moment the consumer is not a person.

Which one should you pick?

Straight guidance, including the cases where we're the wrong answer.

Choose Datamagnet if

  • The thing asking for data is your product, a pipeline or an agent — not a rep in a browser tab
  • You want the profile as it stands right now, not a record assembled from a vendor waterfall
  • Post content, commenters, reactors and reposters have to arrive as JSON
  • Your headcount should not set your data bill — Unify prices per seat, Datamagnet per credit
  • You already own a sequencer and a CRM, and only the data layer is missing
  • You are shipping enrichment inside a product your own customers use, where seats do not map to anything

Choose Unify if

  • You need email addresses and phone numbers, which Datamagnet does not return at any price
  • The work ends in a sent email or a dial — Datamagnet has no sequencer, no mailbox infrastructure and no dialer
  • You want anonymous website visitors identified and worked automatically; Datamagnet has no equivalent
  • The users are salespeople in a UI who will never write an HTTP request
  • Enrichment has to write back to Salesforce or HubSpot without you building the integration
  • You want one vendor covering both signal capture and outbound execution rather than assembling it yourself

Unify's API moves your data in. It does not hand you theirs.

Unify publishes a real developer API with Python and TypeScript libraries — objects, attributes and records, analytics events, sequences and tasks. Read it closely and the direction is clear. It exists so your warehouse, CRM and internal systems can push signals and targeting data into Unify, and so Unify can push actions back out. There is no endpoint that takes an identifier and returns an enriched person. Enrichment is something the platform does for its own users, inside its own interface.

  • Unify API — accounts, contacts, custom objects, sequences, tasks and analytics events in your workspace
  • Datamagnet API — POST a LinkedIn URL, get the live profile back as JSON for 1 credit
  • Different jobs: one orchestrates a platform, the other supplies the data underneath it

Unify credits and Datamagnet credits are different units. Unify charges 2 credits per email enrichment and 4 per phone; a Datamagnet person or company profile is 1 credit. Competitor pricing is taken from their public pricing page and was last checked July 2026; list prices change and negotiated rates differ. See Datamagnet pricing for our current plans.

Where each tool genuinely wins

No tool wins everywhere. Here's the honest split.

Where Unify wins

  • Email addresses and phone numbers through an 11-vendor waterfall — Datamagnet returns neither, at any price
  • It actually sends: multi-channel sequencing, managed Gmail and Outlook mailboxes with warmup and rotation, and a dialer on Business
  • Website visitor identification, blending 6sense, Clearbit, Demandbase and Snitcher behind one tag
  • Native Salesforce and HubSpot sync, read-write on Business, so enrichment lands on records with no integration work
  • A browser extension for prospecting and enriching on LinkedIn; Datamagnet has no extension at all
  • Signal breadth across 40+ vendors — hiring, funding, technographics, G2, ad intelligence — against our six signal types
  • A free plan with up to three seats and a $20 entry tier, so a whole revenue team can start without a contract
  • Non-technical users run the entire workflow from a chat prompt; Datamagnet needs someone who writes code

Where Datamagnet wins

  • A REST API that returns third-party profile data — Unify's API reads and writes your own workspace objects
  • Every profile fetched live at request time rather than served from stored records
  • Post content, commenters, reactors and reposters as structured data, which Unify does not extract
  • A Sales Navigator search URL turned into structured results, page by page
  • No seats anywhere in the pricing — a team of forty pays the same as a team of one
  • Charged only on successful requests, with 10 free credits and no card to start
  • Published per-endpoint credit costs, so cost per record is arithmetic rather than a quote
  • Works with any stack, any CRM, or none — there is no platform to adopt first

Datamagnet vs Unify: FAQ

Unify publishes a developer API, but it reads and writes objects inside your own Unify workspace — accounts, contacts, custom objects, sequences, tasks and analytics events, with Python and TypeScript libraries. It is not an enrichment endpoint: you cannot call Unify to get a person or company profile returned as JSON. Enrichment happens inside the platform, against its database and vendor waterfall. Datamagnet works the other way round, returning live person and company profile data from a single POST.

Unify moved to self-serve pricing in June 2026. Its own pricing page lists a Free plan with limited credits and up to three seats, Base at $20 per seat per month with 800 credits per seat, Pro at $60 per seat per month with 2,400 credits and a 14-day trial, and a custom-priced Business tier billed annually that adds website intent, the dialer and read-write CRM sync. Managed mailboxes cost $25 each per month. Figures quoted in older reviews predate that change.

Not directly — the two sit at different layers. Unify executes outbound: it builds lists, waterfalls emails and phone numbers, writes sequences, sends from managed mailboxes and syncs to your CRM. Datamagnet supplies data to code: POST a LinkedIn URL and get the profile as structured JSON, fetched live at one credit per lookup. Teams that already own a sequencer and a CRM often use Datamagnet as the data layer and skip the platform entirely.

No. Datamagnet returns person and company profile data, post content and engagement, ICP search results and job-change signals. It does not find, verify or return email addresses or phone numbers, and it has no dialer and no email sending. Unify runs an eleven-vendor waterfall for contact details and charges two credits per email enrichment and four per phone. If contact details are the deliverable, Unify is the right tool and Datamagnet is not.

Yes. Unify Intent installs a JavaScript snippet on your site and resolves anonymous traffic to companies using a proprietary de-anonymization engine that blends 6sense, Clearbit, Demandbase and Snitcher. Identified accounts can then trigger plays, sequences and Slack alerts. Website intent and product signals sit on the Business plan. Datamagnet has no visitor identification of any kind — it enriches identities you already hold, starting from a LinkedIn URL.

Datamagnet, in almost every case. A product needs an endpoint that returns data, priced per call, with no seat count attached — POST a LinkedIn URL, get JSON fetched live for one credit, and pay only for requests that succeed. Unify is priced per seat, and its API is built to move data into and out of its own workspace rather than to serve profile lookups. Unify is the better choice when the users are salespeople rather than services.
