KASPR VS DATAMAGNET

Kaspr Finds The Number. Datamagnet Finds The Person.

Kaspr is a Chrome extension and contact database built for reps prospecting inside LinkedIn — its output is a phone number or an email address. Datamagnet is a data API: POST a LinkedIn URL and get the profile, company, posts and engagement back as JSON, fetched live. Different jobs, and more complementary than competing.

Datamagnet vs Kaspr: the short answer

Kaspr and Datamagnet solve different halves of the same problem. Kaspr is a LinkedIn Chrome extension and contact database — its product is phone numbers and email addresses, strongest across Europe, priced per user from $49 a month. Datamagnet is a data API: POST a LinkedIn URL and get the full profile, company, posts and engagement as JSON, fetched live at request time and billed by credit with no seats. Choose Kaspr if reps need dialable numbers while browsing LinkedIn. Choose Datamagnet if software needs structured profile data. Datamagnet returns no phone numbers or email addresses at all.

Our verdict

For most teams this is not an either/or. Kaspr is the better tool the moment a human needs to phone or email someone: the extension works on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and Recruiter Lite, the European mobile coverage is genuinely good, and it pushes straight into Salesforce, HubSpot or a dialer. Datamagnet is the better tool when the consumer of the data is code — when you need the whole profile rather than a way to reach it, post and engagement data, ICP search, or job-change signals on a webhook. Kaspr caps its API at 60 requests a day on Starter; that number alone decides the page for anyone building on it.

Which one should you pick?

Straight guidance, including the cases where we're the wrong answer.

Choose Datamagnet if

  • The thing calling the API is your product, a data pipeline, or an agent — not a rep with a browser tab open
  • You need the whole profile — headline, work history, education, tenure, recent activity — not just a way to contact someone
  • You want post content, commenters, reactors and reposters as structured data
  • You need more than 60 API requests a day without moving to a custom contract
  • Adding people to the team should not change what your data costs
  • You want job-change and engagement signals pushed to a webhook instead of re-checking records on a schedule

Choose Kaspr if

  • You need phone numbers or email addresses — Datamagnet returns neither, on any plan, at any price
  • Your reps live inside LinkedIn and want a one-click reveal in the browser; Datamagnet has no Chrome extension
  • European mobile coverage is the deciding factor, where Kaspr draws on Cognism data and 120+ European providers
  • You want enriched leads pushed into Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Aircall or Ringover without writing any code
  • The people using the tool are salespeople and recruiters rather than engineers — Kaspr is a UI product, Datamagnet is an API
  • You need email verification or bounce checking before a send, which Datamagnet does not do

Kaspr capabilities are summarized from their public documentation and pricing pages, last checked July 2026. Products change — verify against their current offering before you buy.

Kaspr answers "how do I reach them". Datamagnet answers "who are they".

Both products take a LinkedIn profile URL as the key, which makes them look interchangeable. They are not. Kaspr resolves that URL against a licensed contact database and hands back a phone number and an email — the contact details are the deliverable, and everything else in the response is context. Datamagnet fetches the profile itself at request time and hands back the record: headline, current role, tenure, full work history, education, company firmographics, and, through separate endpoints, what the person has posted and who engaged with it. Neither one substitutes for the other. The question is which half of the workflow you are missing.

  • Reach — Kaspr supplies the dialable number or the address, and pushes it into the CRM the rep already uses
  • Context — Datamagnet supplies the profile, the company, the posts and the engagement behind them, as JSON
  • Change — Datamagnet watches for job changes, new posts and engagement, and delivers them by HMAC-signed webhook
60/day
API requests allowed on Kaspr's Starter plan, and 500/day on Business. Datamagnet Starter allows 10 per minute.

Where each tool genuinely wins

No tool wins everywhere. Here's the honest split.

Where Kaspr wins

  • Phone numbers and direct dials — the core of Kaspr, and something Datamagnet does not return at all
  • Verified work and direct email addresses, unlimited B2B email credits on every paid plan
  • A Chrome extension that works on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and Recruiter Lite, revealing contacts on the profile you are already looking at
  • European contact coverage backed by Cognism, with 200M+ European B2B contacts and 120+ regional data providers
  • One-click push into Salesforce, HubSpot, Pipedrive, Zoho, Lemlist, Brevo and the Aircall and Ringover dialers
  • A real free plan with monthly phone and email credits, no card required
  • GDPR and CCPA aligned with a documented lawful basis, 72-hour breach notification, and a published data-sourcing policy
  • Built for salespeople and recruiters who will never open a terminal — no engineering time required to get value on day one

Where Datamagnet wins

  • The full profile, not just contact details — headline, tenure, work history, education, and recent activity
  • Every profile fetched live at request time rather than matched against stored records
  • Post content, commenters, reactors and reposters as structured JSON, which Kaspr does not offer
  • ICP people search, company search and Sales Navigator URL search, all as API endpoints
  • Six job-change and engagement signal types delivered by HMAC-signed webhook
  • Rate limits measured per minute rather than per day — 10/min on Starter against 60/day on Kaspr Starter
  • Credits, not seats: team size never changes the bill, and there is no licence minimum
  • Charged only on successful requests, with 10 free credits and API access from the first call

Datamagnet vs Kaspr: FAQ

No. Datamagnet is a professional profile and company data API. It returns profile fields, work history, company firmographics, posts and engagement as JSON, and it does not return phone numbers, email addresses, or email verification of any kind. Kaspr exists to do exactly that, drawing on a database of more than 500 million phone numbers and email addresses. If dialable numbers are what you need, Kaspr is the right tool and Datamagnet is not a substitute for it.

For a rep prospecting by hand, yes. Kaspr's Chrome extension works on LinkedIn, Sales Navigator and Recruiter Lite, revealing phone numbers and emails on whichever profile is open, then pushing them into Salesforce, HubSpot or a dialer. Datamagnet has no Chrome extension and no CRM connectors. Datamagnet is the better choice when the work is programmatic: enriching profiles in bulk from your own code, tracking job changes, or pulling post engagement into your own system.

Yes, but it is narrow and gated. The Kaspr API takes a LinkedIn profile URL and returns contact details — phone numbers, emails, job title and company information. It is not available on the free plan, and the request limits are tight: 20 per hour and 60 per day on Starter, 250 per hour and 500 per day on Business. Datamagnet is API-first by design, with rate limits measured per minute and endpoints for profiles, companies, posts, search and signals.

Cognism acquired Kaspr in April 2022. Kaspr was founded in Paris and had roughly 1,500 customers, 50,000 users and 14 employees at the time of the deal. It still operates as its own self-serve product with its own pricing, positioned as the low-cost, bottom-up option alongside Cognism's enterprise contracts, and it draws on Cognism's European data. Kaspr is active and open to new customers as of July 2026.

Yes, and for many teams that is the sensible answer, because the two overlap very little. Datamagnet handles discovery and context — ICP search, live profile and company enrichment, post engagement, and job-change signals — while Kaspr supplies the phone number or email address for the people you decide to contact. Both accept a LinkedIn profile URL as the lookup key, so the same identifier moves between them without any matching step in between.

Kaspr bills per user, per month: a free tier, Starter at $49 per user billed annually or $65 monthly, Business at $79 per user billed annually or $99 monthly, and a custom Organization plan sold annually with a five-user minimum. Datamagnet bills credits rather than seats — $39 a month for 1,000 credits up to $199 for 25,000, plus pay-as-you-go packs from $0.02 a credit. Ten people can share one Datamagnet key at no extra cost.
